Outstanding mare Queen Elida (Love You) followed up with her Newcastle with a faultless harness racing display to take out the Inter Dominion Trotting Championship Second Round Heat 3 at Bathurst last night.
In a keen betting race, fellow Victorian Keayang Chucky was backed into favouritism ahead of Queen Elida and there was also good support for London To A Brick.
But while Queen Elida showed her customary early speed London To a Brick galloped as soon as the mobile was released effectively losing all chance. Then Keayang Chucky galloped while challenging and he too lost his chance of winning.Ā
From then Queen Elida was faultless in her action and with Chris Alford shaking her up bounded away to score by 7 metres from Keayang Stuka who just shaded Plymouth Chubb in third placing. #
Queen Elida seems to have come good at the right time. She has had issues with her feet but has been suited with the softer track conditions in this Inter Dominion series. She is also a tough mare who just thrives on constant racing.Ā
QUEEN ELIDA REPLAY
The mare is raced by New Zealand farmer Gordon McKenzie with his sons Graeme, Blair and Brad along with Tony and Cheryl Barron. Tony Barron bred the mare.
Plymouth Chubb continues to show ominous improvement and his trainer Peter Manning seems to have the four year old gelding back to the form that he displayed as a juvenile.Ā
