Despite being a last start Group 1 winner Victorian pacer Better Eclipse is the rank outsider in tonight’s Miracle Mile at Menangle.
Better Eclipse earned his way into the $1million feature after taking out the Chariots Of Fire a fortnight ago.
However, despite the victory the four-year-old opened at $71 after drawing the widest barrier in the ultimate sprint test.
Trainer Jess Tubbs knows it will take some luck for her pacer to be successful from barrier 10.
“The draw is certainly a concern but also eliminates the guess work regarding tactics,” Tubbs said.
“We’ll have to hope the temp is on all the way and he has the opportunity to sprint home like he did in the Chariots.”
Better Eclipse was positioned three-pegs in the Chariots Of Fire.
The race favourite for tonight’s Miracle Mile is dual champion King Of Swing.
