Recent placegetter chasing his second win

After a run of minor placings, the Wayne Rainbird-trained Peanut Sutter (Sutter Hanover) will be looking to bounce back into the harness racing winners’ circle when he lines up in the Downton Property Pace (2090m) in Hobart on Friday night.

The Sutter Hanover gelding broke through for his maiden win in late January and has been amongst the placings in seven of nine starts since. He has earned his owner-breeder Barbara Frost just over $15,000 so far this season.

Peanut Sutter drops back to a no more than one-lifetime win event after his most recent effort on 22 September in a one to two win event where he chased home How Sweet and Franco Tyson.

“I’m very happy with him. He is a good bread and butter horse. He is no world champion but is a good money spinner.

“There are a couple of scratchings in there tonight that will make it easier for him. I expect him to run his usual honest race. I’ll be happy if he runs a place, if he wins it’s a bonus,” said Rainbird.

Paul Williams retains his association as driver of the pacer on Friday, where they will line up from barrier six in the $9,700 event, and his rivals include recent maiden winners Bumpy J and Stranded Lollipop.

“I have an injured shoulder, and Paul Williams does a lot of track work with him for me. Paul seems to suit him really well,” the trainer added.

The Hobart program kicks off with the fast-class race on the program, the Thompson Floor Coverings Pace (2090m), a 55 to 59 event, where Kenya will be chasing his fifth win of the season, with the Art Major gelding finishing no further back than second in his last five outings.

Friday’s seven-race card in Hobart commences at 17:45 and will be shown exclusively on Sky Racing 2.
