Husband and wife combination Mark and Lisa Pitt scored their most important to date when their star harness racing filly Ride The Highs (Ride High) gave a faultless all the way display to take out the Group 1 $150,000 Qbred Triad Final for two year old fillies at Albion Park on Saturday evening.

On the strength of her effortless Heat win, Ride the Highs was installed a hot favourite and with a perfect draw of three it was expected that she would go straight to the lead.
And that’s precisely how the race turned out as Ride The Highs exploded out of the mobile to lead early. Yoursospecial secured a trail behind the leader while the only other runner under single figures Ruby Rhayne Bow settling one out and three back.
Ride the Highs was always travelling within herself and Pitt let her go on the on leaving the back straight and she stormed clear to put a space between herself and the rest of the field. At the end Ride The Highs had just under fifteen metres to spare over Yoursospecial with Ourbeachgirlmaywyn a distant third.

For Lisa Pitt the win was her first in a Group 1 while Mark who drives for Emma Stewart now has 31 Group 1 features to his credit.
The win vindicated the decision of the Pitts who are based near Tongala in Victoria to make the trip to Brisbane to tackle the feature a few weeks back that has now culminated in her Heat and final success.

Lisa was delighted after the event.
“I flew up yesterday with the children. It’s amazing. I wouldn’t have it any other way”.
“Mark and I are a team and I can’t believe it”.
“She’s shown ability from Day 1, she has got a bit of an attitude problem around the stable but when they go like that you put up with it”.
“Mark said she was really good tonight. She got a bit strong through the middle but she can go home now for a well earned rest. I’m more than positive she’ll be back here next year”.
Ride the Highs is part raced by prominent owner Mick Boots. The filly has high speed looks strong and should return even better next year as a three year old.
