The Rocknroll Hanover horse Rock N Roll World 1:48.6 ($712,737), one of the best bred and best performed sires to be imported to Australia in recent years, will stand this season at the Cobbitty Equine Farm, Cobbitty (NSW), of Belinda and Luke McCarthy.
He will stand alongside the worldās richest pacing stallion McWicked, the reigning Victorian Horse of the Year Lochinvar Art, the Victoria and A. G. Hunter Cup hero Bling It On and former 3YO of the Year and Art Majorās leading son For A Reason. They are a royally-bred lineup of young sires.
Rock N Roll World served 109 mares in Western Australia in his first season before being shipped to Victoria last year where he covered 100 mares. His first crop are a splendid advertisement for him, showing all the quality of their sire.
Rocknroll Hanover, the sire of Rock N Roll World, was a champion sire and broodmare sire with worldwide progeny earnings of almost $140 million and 85 in the 1:50 list. A champion pacer himself, with a record of 1:48.6, Rocknroll Hanover was the worldās champion two-year-old pacer at which age he took a record of 1:49.8, he was Horse of the Year at three and he ran up a record tally of $2,745,038 to the end of his two and three-year-old racing.
Rocknroll Hanover has matched his greatness as a racehorse in the siring field, and now his sons are achieving distinctions of the same order.
Not only is Rock N Roll World a young son of Rocknroll Hanover ā he was foaled in 2012 ā but on his distaff side he can claim equal distinctions. He ranks as a brother to a 1:50 sire in World Of Rocknroll 1:50.6 ($338,561) and a half-brother to Captain Deo (1:50.4) and to the dams of Odds On Lauderdale (1:49.2) and Sir Richard Z Tam (1:50.2).
Their dam, Worldly Beauty (by Artplace), won 21 races and $1.9 million in stakes and took a record of 1:49.6 and was adjudged the top American 2YO Filly and 3YO Filly of her time.
Worldly Beauty was a sister to Worldly Treasure (1:53.2), the dam of a champion colt pacer in Captaintreacherous 1:47.2 ($3.1 million), the USA and Canadian 2YO and 3YO of the Year and Hall of Fame member. Standing at Hanover Shoe Farms for a fee of $30,000, Captaintreacherous has been the leading sire of two and three-year-olds in North America for the last two years and was third on the all-aged list, while in Australia, he was the leading first crop sire last year and currently heads the two-year-old list.
Being out of World Order 1:53 ($267,205), by Nihilator from the broodmare gem Rodine Hanover 1:54 ($231,630), by Big Towner.
Rodine Hanover, whose sire family is one of the most highly prized in America and who left six in 1:54 and five $100,000 earners, was also the dam of Perfect Profile, the dam of leading sires Art Major and Perfect Art.
The first three dams of Rock N Roll World have left 39 foals between them for 23 winners including 14 in 1:55.
His pedigree includes three strains of Abercrombie blood, one being through Artsplace, the sire of Art Major. These bloodlines have proved very successful over the years here in Australia.
Rock N Roll World, who commenced his career as a two-year-old, won two races that term including a division of the Tompkins Geers and was placed in the New Jersey Futurity, Lawrence B. Sheppard and Reynolds Memorial.
As a three-year-old he won four races including the New Jersey Futurity and the Adios Stake Consolation in 1:50.6 and was placed in the Tattersalls Pace, Bluegrass Stake, Reynolds Memorial, John Simpson Memorial, a Meadowlands Pace heat of the North America Cup Consolation.
Rock N Roll World won twice in invitational company at five in 1:48.6 and 1:49.6, the latter defeating the world champion Freaky Feet Pete 1:47.2 ($1.6 million), and was placed in the $325,000 Dan Patch Invitation in 1:48.4, the Graduate Series and eliminations of the Ben Franklin Pace.
Rock N Roll World displayed brilliant speed and stamina, winning on all-sized tracks in elite company from two to five years.
There seems little doubt that Rock N Roll World is destined to distinguish himself as a sire ā as to be expected of one of his royal pedigree.
His service fee is $4,400 including GST.
