In what has become a cliché, Greg Scholefield has enhanced his incredible Globe Derby harness racing stats.
Recently registering a personal milestone when his stable’s earnings passed $1million, the highly-respected trainer has a winning rate of 46 per cent this season – and 37 per cent for the last decade!
Undertaking the long trip to Globe Derby on a regular basis, Scholefield rarely heads home winless, in fact, his success rate is 61 per cent at the venue.
That statistic was lifted to 100 per cent when Scholefield made the eight-hour round trip from his Naracoorte base last night.
Taking three runners to headquarters, Scholefield returned home with three winners.
“We’ve got a bigger team than usual in work and they’re all in good form,” Scholefield said. “To take three to the track and all of them win is a great result.
“I got a treble there last month as well, so we’re riding the crest of a wave at the moment.”
Hanging Fire (Alta Christiano) kick-started Scholefield’s evening by leading throughout from barrier four.
With Gaita Pullicino holding the reins, Hanging Fire rated 1:55.7 over 1800 metres as Wrangler and Longfellow filled the placings.

Scholefield and Pullicino then combined to score with Rakero Storm (Bettor’s Delight), which was never in danger after finding the front from gate two.
Dina Mo (American Ideal) rounded out proceedings when too good for Barney Fella and Keilah over 1800 metres.
Also driven by Pullicino, the son of American Ideal rated 1:56.9.
