Brilliant trotter Scotch Notch (Scottish Bret) has become the 10th member of the Victorian Harness Racing Hall of Fame, having been inducted at a special ceremony at Melton toninght (Aug 05).
Revered as the ‘greatest standardbred mare bred in Australia’, Scotch Notch was competitive against the United States’ best squaregaiters and tallied 48 wins in Australia and New Zealand, which included two Inter Dominions.
Scotch Notch joinsĀ Gordon Rothacker (inducted in 2012), Maori’s Idol (2013), George Gath (2014), Globe Derby (2015), Popular Alm (2016), Vin Knight (2017), Bill McKay (2018),Ā Edgar Tatlow (2019) and Gammalite (2021) as Legends of the Victorian Harness Racing Hall of Fame.
The night also saw seven outstanding contributors to harness racing in Victoria inducted into the Hall of Fame, those being Dal Fitzpatrick, Noel Ridge, Jim O’Sullivan, My Lightning Blue, Lance Justice and Kevin and Leo Newbound.
