“She is absolutely going to bolt in!”
That is what racecaller Dan Mielicki broadcasted as quality trotting mare Im Ready Jet cruised to a 23m victory in the Group 2 Breeders Crown Championship at Melton on Friday night.
She won the Breeders Crown finals as a two and three-year-old and the daughter of Quaker Jet continued the tradition as a four-year-old – the first horse to achieve this feat.
Bred and raced by Yabby Dam Farms, Im Ready Jet’s victory in the $30,000 feature was win 13 in 29 starts.
And her best win to date according to driver Jack Laugher.
“She went terrific,” said Laugher.
“We were bowling the last mile and she just ran away from them and did it too easy.
“That was her best win since I’ve been on her.”
Laugher has driven Im Ready Jet eight times for two wins and three second placings.
“Her last few runs were a bit below par and Anton (Golino – trainer) took her away and fixed a few issues and she’s come back better again,” said Laugher.
Im Ready Jet worked to the lead and rolled through the quarters in 29.5, 29.4, 28.3 and 29.3 seconds, returning a mile rate of 1:57.4.
She now boasts earnings of $234,500 following her recent success.
