It’s a track he loves and today Franco Sinatra, (Captaintreacherous) after getting the prefect trip, got up to beat Hadron Collider in the $60,000 Group Two TAB Junior Free-For All at Addington.
“There were four lead changes and he ended up in the one one the whole way, so you can call that a lucky run,” said Cran Dalgety who trains the gelding with his wife Chrissie after watching the feature unfold.
At the top of the straight driver Carter Dalgety had to get busy with Franco Sinatra as he had a few lengths to make up.
“Hadron Collider is a very good horse out in front. We had to come wide and we only got him in the last bit, so full credit to him,” Carter said.

The winning time was 3-09.1.
The win was the five year old’s eleventh and all have been on this track.
“To win one race here is amazing, but to win eleven is something else. He raced huge today,” Carter said.

The win was Cran and Chrissie’s two hundredth as a training partnership and Cran’s third win in the Junior Free For All. His other winners were Republican Party and Krug.

The win took Franco Sinatra’s earning to over $150,000.
After winning six of his first nine starts between April and October 2023, he was winless until June 2024. He won again in August that year and his next win came ten months later.
“He won a lot of races quickly here at Addington and he got a bit of a shock for a season.”
