Mighty Ronaldo (Alta Christiano) has upset a good field of pacers to win the Group One $300,000 Fremantle Cup tonight (Jan. 13) at Gloucester Park in the hands of harness racing driver Emily Suvaljko.
Suvaljko gave Mighty Ronaldo a good run on the outer in the race which had drama just after the start.
As the mobile was dispatched expected leader Lavra Joe galloped giving rival Diego the lead and changing the dynamics of the race.
In the straight Mighty Ronaldo who had been given a lovely spot in the running line pulled wide and sprinted best down the outer getting up to win narrowly by half a neck at the line from a game Minstrel who sat parked in the race. Diego faded slightly to third.
