Catch The Fire 1:46.8 ($1.4 million), the exciting, young stallion standing his second season at Pete and Chantal McMullen’s Somerset Farms in Queensland, sired important Stakes harness racing winners in Ohio last weekend.

Catch The Fire

Prolific Fire, a two-year-old filly, led throughout to score her first success in a $65,000 Ohio Sires Stakes division in 1:57 at Northfield Park, Ohio on Sunday (July 21). Sectionline Flame (by Catch The Fire) finished runner-up.

Prolific Fire has now banked $52,300.

The Catch The Fire colts Pants On Fire and My First Fire finished second and third respectively in a $65,000 OSS division for colts in 1:52.2.

The following day the Catch The Fire two-year-old colt Catch The Express broke his maiden when he saluted in a $20,000 Buckeye Stallion Series division in 1:55.8 at Northfield Park.

Catch The Fire in his first North American crop left 50 foals, of which 34 have already raced, 12 have emerged successful with nine in 2:00 and three in 1:55. They have earned $207,167.

Catch The Fire is the third leading first season sire in 2024 behind Papi Rob Hanover and Tall Dark Stranger.

A Rocknroll Dance, who stands alongside Catch The Fire at Somerset Farms, sired a ‘new’ two-year-old winner in Rockin Bull, who scored on debut in 1:59.4 at Warragul on Monday (July 22).

A Rocknroll Dance has left the winners of $2.4 million to date this year and is seventh on the all aged sires’ list.
