Dont Care and My Used To Me, two of last season’s top two-year-old trotters and both members of the French-bred Group winner Used To Me’s first commercial crop, made triumphant returns to the winning lists recently.
Dont Care, the 2YO Trotter of the Year and Vicbred champion, came from near last to win at Cranbourne, while My Used To Me has notched three wins this year including two off handicap marks at Globe Derby Park.
Used To Me, who stands at Haras Des Trotteurs stud at Ballarat, has sired 10 individual winners from 16 starters to date at an average of a brilliant $22,200 per starter.
The Best Madrik, a millionaire son of Coktail Jet, was represented by the end-to-end Menangle winner in Right Moves, who rated 2:00.2 over 2300 metres with the final 800 in a slick 58.5 seconds.
From the first crop of The Best Madrik, Right Moves has now won eight races and $58,107 in stakes.
Night Whisperer, a four-year-old gelding by Quaker Jet, continues to fly the flag for his sire in Victoria. The gelding posted his sixth success for the year at Charlton recently, coming off a 10 metre handicap and carved out his last 800 in 58.6.
Quaker Jet’s champion sire Love You left important winners on both sides of the country last week.
Luvaflair, a three-year-old filly by Love You, was a runaway runner at Gloucester Park, You Really Got Me NZ scored at Charlton and Maryborough, while Kyvalley Surfrider NZ notched his second win at Kilmore.
Used To Me, The Best Madrik, Quaker Jet and Love You are all members of the star-studded Haras Des Trotteurs’ sire roster.
