Sure Thing Captain takes out $100,000 Bottlemart Stockade

Sure Thing Captain capped off a great night for his sire Captaintreacherous after he took out the $100,000 (Gr2) The Bottlemart Stockade at Tabcorp Park Menangle tonight in the hands of harness racing driver Adam Sanderson.

Trained by Shannon Price, Sure Thing Captain began well and settled three deep on the fence for the majority of the journey. Turning for home Sanderson weaved a passage for Sure Thing Captain and he ripped up the inside to take a decisive win.

The winner ran the 2400 mobile in a mile rate of 1:57.4 with a closing 800m in a quick 53.8 seconds.

Sure Thing Captain has now won 7 of his 15 lifetime starts with earnings well over $100,000.
