Reigning Chariots of Fire champion Frankie Ferocious (Captaintreacherous) will represent TAB in the $2.1 million TAB Eureka on Saturday, September 7 at Menangle.

This is the first TAB Eureka for the four-year-old Jason Grimson-trained gelding, who is set to kick-off his campaign in the Rising Sun at Albion Park on Saturday, July 13.
“At TAB, we are lucky to work with leading form analysts in the industry from Sky Racing and our traders to strategically select a horse that will provide us with a real chance in the richest harness race,’’ Brett Boyd, TAB Head of Racing Industry Partnerships and chair of the TAB Eureka selection panel, said.
“We don’t always go with the favourite in the market, we assess a horse’s potential based on a range of selection criteria that members of the panel evaluate which takes months of planning.
“For us, Frankie Ferocious was a clear standout. We are pumped to secure the favourite, and as the naming rights sponsor, we will be backing the TAB Eureka across all TAB and Sky Racing channels, including broadcasting the race internationally and nationally in over 4000 TAB venues and on Foxtel.”
Queensland-based breeder and owner Bill Crosby will have his first runner in the TAB Eureka, and he couldn’t be prouder of Frankie Ferocious.
“We’re really happy with him,” Crosby said.
“He continues to improve and his recent win in the Chariots of Fire showed his class. He’ll be primed for the TAB Eureka on September 7.
“The stable is excited to partner with TAB for the second edition of the TAB Eureka race.
“With TAB being such strong supporters of harness racing and sponsor of the race, we couldn’t imagine a better partner for this event.”
The TAB Eureka is a slot race for three and four-year-old Australian-bred pacers.
