After pocketing more than half-a-million dollars in stakes the curtain has been drawn on the racing career of evergreen trotter Our Overanova.
The 11-year-old Monarchy gelding bowed out of racing a winner at Albion Park tonight.
Trained and driven by Grant Dixon, Our Overanova overcame a 40m handicap to do so.
Beginning his career in New Zealand, Our Overanova broke his maiden at start number eight and was then exported to Australia.
He then went on to win 18 of his first 20 starts in Australia with the Dixon team.
Having raced with other interstate stables including Belinda McCarthy in New South Wales and Michael Stanley in Victoria, Our Overanova predominantly raced for Dixon throughout his career.
He retires with a record of 64 wins – 51Ā of those victories were at Albion Park – and 66 placings in 203 starts and earnings of $522,335.
