Custom Harley (A Rocknroll Dance), who won the $20,000 Tasmanian Golden Slipper for two-year-olds at the Launceston twilight harness racing meeting on Sunday (Dec 03), is another product of leading sire A Rocknroll Dance.
The gelding, who started from the back row and was worse than midfield at the bell, rallied strongly out four deep to prevail in the last stride.
He rated a career-best 1:57.5 for 1680 metres.
The winner of three of his seven starts, Custom Harley was the middle leg of a treble for A Rocknroll Dance. His other winners were Lynryd Skynryd NZ, who won a heat of the Youngbloods series, and Modern Jive (1:57.1).
Duffy Hollow, a NZ bred son of A Rocknroll Dance, won two races in the space of 24 hours at Bendigo rating 1:57.3 and Ballarat in 1:55.3.
Other metropolitan winners by A Rocknroll Dance last weekend were Dance And Deliver 1:53.6 (Menangle), Hey Goyougoodthing NZ (Melton) and Forever A Dancer NZ 1:53.5 (Albion Park).
A Rocknroll Dance, the sire of the winners of $4.25million in Australia this season, stands alongside the brilliantly fast Captaintreacherous horse Catch The Fire and the trotter Classic Connection at Somerset Farms, near Brisbane, conducted by Pete and Chantal McMullen.
