Paradise Valley (Sweet Lou), the runaway winner of the $40,000 Tasmanian Oaks at Hobart on Saturday night (November 4), is a graduate of the 2021 Australian Pacing Gold harness racing sale in Melbourne.
Bred by Bruce and Vicki Edward, of Durham Park Standardbreds, the Sweet Lou filly was knocked down for $33,000 to the Aaron Bain Racing and Summit Bloodstock group.
She has now banked $69,430 from three wins and seven placings in 22 starts.
In the Oaks, Paradise Valley stepped straight to the front from the pole and never really gave her rivals a look in. She peeled off her last 800 in 56.4 seconds for a mile rate of a career-best 1:58.1 for 2090 metres.
A finalist in the APG Gold Bullen and Vicbred Super Series, she will be next aimed at the rich Breeders Crown later this month.
