The Team Teal campaign got a boost after female harness racing drivers combined to win four races in Tasmania last weekend.

Major Lester

The campaign commenced on 1 February and runs util 15 March throughout Australia and New Zealand.

Reinswomen race in teal pants to raise vital funds for ovarian and gynaecological cancer research and education programs through WomanCan.

Tasracing is donating $200 for every winner driven and/or trained by a female in Tasmania, with several corporate sponsors jumping on board.

Former Victorian, now Tasmanian-based driver Olivia Weidenbach drove her first winner for the campaign with Major Lester (Art Major) in Hobart on Saturday night.

The following day, she got her second win for the campaign when she drove the same horse to victory (pictured) at the last meeting of the summer season at the Wivenhoe Paceway in Burnie.

Not to be outdone, the states Team Teal ambassador Tiarna Ford also drove a double on the Burnie card.

Ford drove the Kelly Reggett-trained Mayleejae Eagle to victory in race four before teaming up with Ben Yole to win aboard Ozzie Major in race seven.

The win was one of four on the Burnie program for trainer Ben Yole, with his father Wayne training a treble.

Driving honours at the meeting went to Robert Walters with a driving treble.

This weekend, the Team Teal campaign will continue in Tasmania at Hobart on Friday and the Carrick Cup program on Sunday.
