The much improved Tembie (Vincent) made light of his second row draw when he issued a dazzling sprint to score a comprehensive win in the Ladbrokes 3YO and 4YO Final at Globe Derby on Saturday night.

The race put together a talented group of three and four year olds and in a keen betting race Tembie was sent out a heavily supported favourite ahead of Splash of Paynt and Fly The Banner.
TEMBIE APR 26 REPLAY
Tembie’s trainer Dale Afford elected to drive stablemate Machete Roulette thus giving the drive to Joshua Holberton.

In a highly competitive start, Wayne Hill on Fly The Banner was able to take the lead with Lochinvar Camaro having to race outside the leader. Machete Roulette took the trail behind the leader with Splash of Paynt securing the one out and one back trail.
Clarendon Tribute was right behind and Tembie followed him.
Fly The Banner started to shorten stride and Clarendon Tribute issued a strong challenge. But Tembie was just getting wound up and he came with a withering burst to prevail over Clarendon Tribute who ran a very good race and Alive and Free coming the rails to take third.
As a youngster Tembie showed unlimited promise when he took out the Kindergarten 2YO classic and then last year he scored a decisive win in the St Leger stakes as a three year old. But his form was inclined to be patchy at times. However this time in Tembie is racing in rare form and this year he has won four races. He should work his way through the classes.
There were few excuses for the beaten division but Clarendon Tribute lost no admirers when finishing second.
