As the gallops world mourned the loss of champion mare Black Caviar last week, harness racing lost their little piece of magic as sqauregaiter Tennotrump (A Go Go Lauxmont) was humanly euthanised on Friday August 16.
The winner of 17-races and close to $180,000 crossed over at his Staffordshire Park home about an hour north-east of Bendigo, in the company of ownerĀ Neville Pangrazio.
āHe had a lot of pain at his old age and his bowels just werenāt working properly and we tried all afternoon and into the night,ā Pangrazio said. āAnd we just thought to put him down late in the night. It was a sad end.ā
Tennotrump out of Maori Trump had an incredible life after racing at stud, foaling 152-foals with a combined prize money of over three-million-dollars.
āHe was fantastic for us, he came along at a great time for us when the drought was on and kept us all afloat,ā Pangrazio said.
āHe did a good job for us at stud as well and we bred him ā he was really well liked by the whole family and he did a really good job with Peter Manning.ā
The squaregaiter played a special role in the life of PangrazioĀ and his family.
āHe was a part of our family, absolutely he was. He was such a kind horse and we could all sit on him and we would all pick him grass and he would take it out of our hand,ā the 53-year-old said.
āThere was not a mean bone in his body around the place he was an absolute gentleman. He had a great life, a magnificent life and we are proud we got to associate with him.ā
