Ever consistent gelding The Little Master (Vincent) made it two on end winning an action packed West Australian Nights of Thunder Pace Final at Gloucester Park on Friday evening.

Nathan Street was sent out a warm favourite and there was little money for anything else.

Showing his typical high speed Nathan Street looked for the early lead but Elwaddell made him work before he was taken to the front by Gary Hall Jnr.

Arma Believer worked hard early to eventually race outside the leader with Lincoln River in the one out and one back trail. Meanwhile Deni Roberts on The Little Master after being restrained at the start was able to work into a one out and two back trail.

It was obvious that the leaders had set too fast an early pace as they had run the first quarter in 27.3 seconds. Although getting a breather Nathan Street couldn’t break clear and when The Little Master issued his run turning for home it was all over in a twinkling of an eye.

Lincoln River who momentarily looked dangerous on straightening held on for second but the run of the race was that of Elwaddell in third. He had to do plenty of work early and then was boxed in on the rails. Down the home straight driver Lauren Harper was looking for a clear run and he was fast gathering in the leaders.
Nathan Street weakened to finish sixth but after the event was found to have a condition and has been stood down pending a veterinary certificate.

Roberts commented on the fast early pace.

I was giggling after that. I got pushed out obviously coming around the bend which was not ideal for him. I liked to follow Helmet as much as I can.

To his credit he travelled up there beautifully. He’s in another zone at the moment as you can see. He wants to go around again. There was no need to chase them down. They had done too much work early. We were able to rate all the way down the back and let him kick home down the straight. I think Lincoln River still had his chance to get over him. But he’s going really well at the moment this horse. He’s keeping the stable alive, he’s the only one we’ve got racing at the moment. So good on him.

Trained by Greg and Skye Bond The Little Master is by Vincent who is now starting to make a name for himself as a sire.

His dam Anna Faye who was by Christian Cullen was an accomplished race mare who won 12 races and going 1.57.9. The Little Master is by far her best to race although she has also left the winners Veeforvictory (Vincent) and Pinny Noir (Bettors Delight) who has won at Gloucester Park.
