Perennial big race performer The Locomotive (Trixton) racked up the fifth Group 1 success of his harness racing career when he led all the way in the $100,000 Vicbred Super Series (4YO Trotting Entires & Geldings) Final at Melton.Ā
Sent out a prohibitive $1.15 favorite, The Locomotive had little trouble holding the lead from a favorable front row draw, and despite being pressured by Prince Of Rock inside the last lap, the Wayne Potter prepared stallion proved too strong for his rivals.Ā
The win completed a Group 1 double for drive Nathan Jack who made his feelings known after the race.Ā
āHeās actually my favorite horse Iāve ever driven,ā Jack said.Ā
āHeās just a cool horse, heās easy to drive and just gets it right all the time,ā he said.Ā
POWERFUL PERFORMANCE!

Jack said he knew Prince Of Rock would keep him honest during the race.Ā
āI had to keep an eye on Tina (Ridis) on Prince Of Rock, sheās persistent Iāll give her that and you always know how sheās going to drive him and to his credit he keeps running great races,ā he said.Ā
Jack believes The Locomotiveās racing future may lay north of the border.Ā
āāI donāt think Melbourne is his future, itās just too strong running into Just Believe and Callmethebreeze every week so Iāll think youāll see him in Sydney,ā he said.Ā
Jack said The Locomotive will continue to earn for his connections wherever he races.Ā
āHeās just a great horse whatever his future is, whether it be in America or in
Sydney he will acquit himself well,ā he said.Ā Ā
āHe has been a great horse to me.āĀ
The Locomotive has now won 16 races from 29 starts for more than $350,000 in stake earnings.Ā
