The race is on for the harness racing’s $250,000 Chariots Of Fire.
The Group 1 will take place at Menangle on February 19 and the first chances to qualify for the feature happen tonight.
At Menangle is the $50,000 Hondo Grattan Stakes where 10 horses are vying for a spot in the lucrative event.
Headlining the charge is New Zealand pacer Krug who has drawn outside the front row.
The Cran Dalgety-trained entire won his Menangle debut a fortnight ago rating a career best 1:49.9.
He will take on the likes of local pacer Titian Raider and interstate visitor Bettor Call Me, who have both been supported in the market.
At Melton, Victoria, tonight is another Chariots Of Fire qualifier with an invitation to the winner of the 4YO Bonanza.
The field includes top Victoria pacers Act Now and Bondi Lockdown.
More horses will qualify for the Chariots in next weekās Paleface Adios Stakes.
