This Farroh ruled the racetracks of Canada

Harness racing’s Century Farroh, named after the famous American Thoroughbred American Pharoah, was born, reared, trained and owned in Canada.

As a two and three-year-old he pretty much raced exclusively in the strong and lucrative Ontario Sires program and such was his dominance in 2019 that he was voted Canadian Three-Year-Old Pacer of the Year.

As a four-year-old he ventured to USA [minus his trainer Doctor Ian Moore, due to Covid and Border closures] and won the $225,000 Dan Patch Stakes and the $500,000 Breeders Crown Final. He was then voted in 2020 Canadian Horse of the Year.

His career rounded out in 2021 with a resume of 59 starts, 22 wins and earnings of $1,557,016 and along the journey defeated the double Millionaires Bettors Wish 1.47.6, This Is The Plan 1.47.6, Dorsoduro Hanover 1.47.8 and the millionaire Captain Crunch 1.47.4.

“He was one tough animal . Every time he stepped onto the track he was all business and he had a tremendous grit and desire to not let anyone go by him,“ said trainer Dr. Ian Moore.

Century Farroh is a son of the champion racehorse and sire Mach Three . . . as is the breed-changing stallion Somebeachsomewhere.

Century Farroh, who is from a Real Desire mare from a Jennas Beach Boy mare, has a strong Abercrombie influence in his pedigree [3 X 4 to Abercrombie] which is a big plus for Australian bred mares, whilst he also has the Beach Towel blood in his Granddam –  so similarities in his breeding to the great Somebeachsomewhere, who is from a Beach Towel mare.

His dam and grand-dam won over $600,000 between them and took two-year-old records of 1.51 and 1.53.6 respectively. They have produced 16 individual winners between them with 15 of those foals taking 1.55 records and collectively earning in excess of $4million.
