Emrites, a filly by Courage Under Fire had her first start in the state in late June and has finished no worse than fourth in five starts including two wins, while Something Bettor, a gelded son of Bettors Delight, has won two of his three starts since crossing Bass Strait.
Both pacers will be out to build on handy Tasmanian records when they race in Launceston on Sunday night.
Emrites has drawn barrier three in race three, aĀ rating 53 to 57 event over the 2200-metre journey, where the Butler-trained pacer opened up the $3.00 favourite on the back of her last start win in Hobart on 1 August where she scored by 5.6 metres over Forgot The Wallet, who has strengthened the form by winning since, and another four runners from the race being placed at there next race start.
āShe is a beautiful horse to have in the stable, I think she is everyoneās favourite, and she keeps getting better and better each week, I think she has a bit of a future,ā said trainer Kristy Butler.
āI think if the speed is on Mark (Yole) would be looking to slot in with her and she can run fast quarters, thatās no worry for her, as long as she is camped on something and hopefully she can out sprint them at the end,ā added the trainer.
Something Bettor lines up an a 1680-metre event for pacers with aĀ national rating of 58 to 64.
The gelding has won one race, and recorded two second placings from six tries over the sprint distance, and will be chasing a winning hat-trick after wins in Hobart on 27 June and 11 July.
āHe is another nice horse to have in the stable, he knows he is special as he can test you at times,ā said the trainer.
āI think it is a winnable race for him.
āHe does have gate speed, and we wonāt be worried if he has to sit in the breeze and put the pressure on because he can do that over the mile.
āHe can go in front, he can do it tough and he can come from behind, so we arenāt too worried where he ends up,ā Butler explained.
After a late notification, race one has been brought forward to 17:12 (previously 17:15).
Races 1, 3-10 will be shown on Sky Racing 1, while race 2 will be televised on Sky Racing 2.
