The Brillantissime mare Hopeful Beauty firmly established herself as one of the top trotting mares in the country when she blew away her rivals at Melton on Saturday night (June 19).
Bred in France and raced by Pat Driscoll, who stands his sire at his Haras Des Trotteurs stud at Ballarat, Hopeful Beauty has won three of her four starts this season and five races lifetime.
On the same night Orlando Jolt NZ, a gelding by Brillantissimeās studmare Orlando Vici, won his second race at Albion Park in the space of four days and his seventh for the year.
Orlando Vici was also represented by the three-year-old filly Visionary, who notched her second success at Geelong.
Gardena Ronda, a two-year-old filly by Used To Me, became the latest winner for her sire when she soundly trounced her opposition in a heat of the NSW Foundation Series at Menangle at only her second start. Used To Me, bred in France and a Group winner in Victoria, has left 10 individual winners from 16 starters to date.
The great Love You and his best son, Quaker Jet, both sired winners at Bendigo on Wednesday (June 16). Meadowvalley Lover (by Love You) won her second race, while Elegant Jet broke her maiden status at her fifth attempt.
The following night La Serena, another of the first crop of Quaker Jet, saluted for the second time at Ballarat. From his initial Australian crop of 23 live foals, Quaker Jet has had 17 starters for 13 winners and three placegetters.
Brillantissime, Orlando Vici, Used To Me, Love You and Quaker Jet are all members of the Haras Des Trotteurs sire roster.
