Emerging four year old stayer Speak The Truth (Bettor’s Delight) secured a berth in the world’s richest harness race the $2.1m The TAB Eureka when he scored a tough harness racing win in the $231,000 The Hayden at Albion Park on Saturday night.

Sent out a $1.85 favorite, Speak The Truth made a mid-race move to sit parked outside his main danger Captain Shuffles ($3.40) and the fancied pair turned the race into a two horse war for a gruelling final 600 metres.

With neither horse willing to give ground, it was Speak The Truth who ultimately prevailed in the home straight and stamped his ticket to Sydney for a slot in The TAB Eureka on September 2.

Driver Adam Sanderson said he had faith in the Shannon Price trained son of Bettors Delight.

“I knew when we were going head to head on the corner that he would be the stronger one in the end,” Sanderson said.

“He travelled well throughout and I’m just proud that he got it done tonight,” he said.

Sanderson believes Speak The Truth will acquit himself well in Sydney.

“That’s the cherry on the top to go down there and compete on the biggest stage,” he said.

“I think if we can drive him with a sit he will follow any speed.”
