Classy three year old harness racing filly Tracy the Jet (Love You) scored the first of the three year old trotters classics when finished powerfully to take out the VHRC Holmfield at Melton on Saturday evening.

The Holmfield is named after former Victorian Trotting Club President Harry Holmfield who held his position for many years and gave tireless service to harness racing.
Having her first start for over three months, Tracy The Jet who is trained by Jess Tubbs was restrained early on by driver James Herbertson to a one out and one back trail.
Hot favourite Commodus found the lead with Alrighty moving up to race outside the leader and Sam Nien taking a trail behind the leader.
TRACY THE JET AUG 16 REPLAY
Commodus had most of his rivals off the bit but Tracy The Jet started to make a run out wide to make a serious challenge. Commodus could not break clear and at the same time outside Sam Nien went for an inside run.
But it was Tracy The Jet that finished the best and she comfortably saw off Commodus and Sam Nien in third placing.
James Herbertson was suitably impressed after the event.
“She really didn’t have any favours. She got a little bit bumpy off the gate so we had to let her find her feet and find a spot”.
“The leader got it easy in front and with 30.7 seconds in the first quarter she didn’t have any right to win that”.
“I was quite confident on the turn, the way she was moving into it. Part of it was waiting. I thought I wouldn’t be waiting as I’m coming pretty strong here”.
“She’s pretty narrow gaited in front. She has to wear the boots to cover her whole legs. She can hit anywhere in her knee. It just helps give her a bit of clearance. The trotters these days go that fast they can’t afford to be interfering. I forgot to pull the plugs out so there was a little bit more”.
“She’ll run in some feature races but I couldn’t be more happier with her tonight”.
Tracy The Jet really caught the eye in May when she finished fast for a narrow second to Gatesys Gem in the New South Wales Oaks at Menangle and along with the other classy filly Miss Ohana the three are shaping up for some intriguing tussles leading up to the Victoria Trotters Oaks in October.
