Southland harness racing owners Dave Kennedy and Cleland Murdoch have sent their good mare Treacherous Gall (Captaintreacherous) to Victorian trainer David Aiken.
“She arrived in Australia about eight days ago. There’s nothing here for her. She’s in a grade were she’s uncompetitive. I can’t see any point in knocking her around,” Kennedy said.
The four year old mare has won eight races from just twenty one starts including the G3 Caduceus Club of Southland/Alabar Fillies Classic and the G2 Southern Oaks.

Treacherous Gall carries an R74 rating and if she raced here, would be up against the good Cup Class horses.
“She wasn’t too far away from the better three year olds last season. She had a lot of bad draws – either outside of the front row or outside of the second row.”
Prior to leaving for Australia Treacherous Gall won a trial at Rangiora for Yaldhurst trainer Regan Todd. Kennedy says she’s likely to have her first race in Australia in the next fortnight.
The plan is to bring her back at Christmas time when the high stake mares races are programmed in New Zealand.
As a trainer 65 year old Aiken has won more than 2,500 races including 33 Group Ones.
His best winners have been Lennytheshark which won the 2015 Interdominion Grand Final, two Victoria Cups and a Miracle Mile, Hectorjayjay which won a Black A Flake and the NSW Derby winner Max Delight.
