Chairman’s in-harness experience at Melton

Harness Racing Victoria Chairman Dale Monteith took part in the Melton Double-Seater Sulky In-Harness Experience at Tabcorp Park Melton on Saturday night.

An In Harness Experience participant is teamed up with a professional driver in a purpose designed dual sulky where you then compete in a real race, complete with pounding hooves, cheering crowds and live commentary.

The In Harness Experience is held under real race conditions. We insist on the same strict safety standards as we do for our normal racing.
Drivers wear protective clothing including safety vests and helmets, all of which are provided as part of the package.

Your heart will still be racing, long after the horses stop!

The In Harness Experience includes:

 – Pre-race procession in the Parade ring
 – Head to the track for a warm up
 – Mobile barrier start
 – On course live commentary
 – On course live TV coverage
 – DVD for each participant
 – Driver details published in the official race book
 – 2 course buffet dinner (for 1 person, with the opportunity to purchase additional seats)
 – Your non racing guests invited to watch from the Winners Circle- track side at the finish line
 – Overview of race experience and what is required Ie: equipment and your role in the race
 – Escort to the stables where you are introduced to your driver and horse
 – Allocated changing facilities with racing silks and protective clothing to wear
