Haras Des Trotteurs’ harness racing sires provided the quinella pair, Just Believe (Orlando Vici) and Im Ready Jet (Quaker Jet), in the Group 1 $100,000 Australian Trotting Grand Prix at Melton.
Just Believe led from the outset, steadied the tempo in the middle stages and brushed home in 57.6 seconds to easily keep his rivals at bay.
The win clinched the title of Aurora Australis champion for 2023, the seven-year-old having earlier annexed the Great Southern Star and E. B. Cochran Cup. He has now earned a massive $651,463 in stakes.
Other recent winners by Orlando Vici have been Orlando Rock, who won on debut at the Melton midweek meeting, and the three-year-old filly Melsadele (Cambridge Raceway, NZ).
