New Zealand bred gelding Tweedledee (Superfast Stuart) continued his excellent recent harness racing form when he finished strongly to take out the Fred Jones Trotters Cup at Globe Derby last night.

Trained by Ryan Hryhorec and patiently driven by Danielle Hill, Tweedledee settled at the rear of the field from his 20 metre handicap with the other fancied runners My Used To Be, Blue Coman and Aldebaran Dexta in front of him.
Aldebaran Dexta who was driven by Hryhorec and My Used to Be strode away on the final bend with Blue Coman trying hard. However it was Tweedledee who had the best finishing sprint and he overwhelmed them to win by 3 metres from My Used To Be with Blue Coman a metre away third.
TWEEDLEDEE REPLAY
Raced by Norm Jenkin Tweedldee was previously prepared by Andy Gath in Victoria where he won four races at Melton.

Prior to last night, Tweedledee had won two races at Globe Derby for Ryan Hryhorec.
“I was sitting in the death seat and when I looked across I noticed that he was three wide in the train.” “He wasn’t entitled to come on as he did.”
“He was sent over to me last October to prepare for the Kapunda Cup” commented Hryhorec. “He went no good and I recommended that he needed a spell. It’s been good timing with him winning last night as this is the start of all of the Country Cups. We have Kadina, Strathalbyn and Victor Habour all coming up”. “He is quite sound for a nine year old and has no issues.”
My Used To Be fought on well to finish second while Blue Coman who was having his start for Toby Ryan showed plenty of fight in coming third off his 20 metre handicap. He’ll appreciate the drop in classes in the future and a country cup may well come his way.
