Harness Racing Victoria (HRV) Chairman Dale Monteith has issued an update on HRV’s recruitment of a new Chief Executive Officer:
“The Board of HRV advises that a subcommittee of the Board has been formed to lead the recruitment process for our next CEO. Six Degrees Executive has been engaged to support that process.
Current CEO Dayle Brown will vacate the role officially after September 15, as announced in July.
I am pleased to announce today that Fiona Mellor has been appointed as Interim CEO from September 16.
Fiona is our current Chief Commercial Officer and has a wealth of experience as an accomplished executive and company director.
Fiona will be ably supported by the HRV Executive Management Team, consisting of Chief Operating Officer Luke Spano, GM Racing Stephen Bell, GM Media and Communications Cody Winnell and GM People and Culture Natalie Wright-Boyd. HRV is currently actively recruiting for the position of GM Integrity.
The current body of work that the EMT and HRV are driving will continue in line with the TROTS24 strategic direction established under Dayle’s leadership.
The Board has full confidence in the HRV team, led by Fiona and the EMT, and will be working closely with the team during this period of recruitment.
Determining a CEO is the most important decision an organisation can make and our search for a new CEO to lead harness racing in Victoria at this exciting juncture will be thorough.
Dale Monteith
HRV Chairman”
