Harness racing drivers Ross Adams and Jim Douglass are both recovering after being dislodged from their respective horses in a race fall at Penrith last night.
Douglass was discharged from Westmead Hospital this morning, however, Adams has remained in hospital according to Harness Racing New South Wales Education and Welfare Officer Maurice Logue.
“Jim has just been released from Westmead Hospital having stayed there overnight where they conducted a number of scans and appears is OK,” said Logue.
“Ross looks as though he will be in hospital for about a week’s stay.
“His injuries are associated with being unconscious and he has fractured ribs
“He is expected to make a full recovery.”

Douglass’ drive Linxx fell while in front of the field which caused a ripple affect where Adam’s drive Our Browneyed Girl as well as the Chris Geary-driven Parked In Heaven were impacted.
All horses should make a full recovery.
“Chris Geary was not dislodged but the horse received significant impact as a result of the fallen runners and determined they didn’t want to go around again,” said HRNSW chief steward Clint Bentley.
“For the most part, the horses were ok.
“Linxx was the worst affected, with significant abrasions to both knees.”
The race was eventually re-run just prior to midnight with the abovementioned horses declared late scratchings.
The winner was All Night Long that “could well be the topical tip” as racecaller Fred Hastings broadcasted mid-race.
