The Used To Me gelding Don’t Care maintained his devastating harness racing form when he equalled the track record in winning the Group 3 $30,000 Cobram Trotters Cup on Sunday afternoon (Jan 8).
Starting off a 10 metre handicap, the chestnut gelding was spotting the leaders a conservative 40 metres on settling down but quickly tacked on and then looped the field in the middle stages.
The mile rate of 2:00.8 for the 2678 metres standing start equalled the record set by The Boss Man in 2016.
A former Australian 2YO Trotting Colt of the Year, Don’t Care has now won 12 races and almost $170,000 in stakes.
