He is the favourite for harness racing’s Victoria Derby and Captaintreacherous colt Captain Ravishing sent out a stern warning to his rivals at Kilmore tonight (Sep. 23).
The three-year-old smashed the track record winning the 2180m Reg Withers Classic clocking 1:54.6 untouched.
Previously, the track record was 1:56 set by Juliette Bromac in 2016.
Captain Ravishing was not urged out of the gate from barrier five, instead driver Mark Pitt let him work three-wide before finding the lead.
From there, Captain Ravishing put on the speed and rolled through the sectionals in 29.6, 30.7, 27.1 and 27.3 seconds to space his rivals by more than 14m.
“This horse is the real deal,” said Pitt.
“I still think there is improvement in him.
“He’s only had a handful of starts and will get better with more racing.
“I think the long trip (of the Derby) will suit him and if he has too, he is really, really fast.
“He’s just doing all of this on his own.”
WOW! HE'S A FREAK!
Captain Ravishing stunning again in crushing the clock and handsomely winning the Reg Withers 3YO Classic for Emma Stewart and Mark Pitt at Kilmore, carrying on from his jaw-dropping previous win.

He will take to that task a record of four wins and a placing in seven starts.
