The finals of the Vicbred Super Series at Melton on New Year’s Eve further enhanced Ballarat-based stud Haras Des Trotteurs’ position as a force in the Australian breeding industry.
Two of the stud’s leading sires, Love You and his great son Quaker Jet, produced winners of Group 1 $100,000 Finals in Parisian Artiste (3YO gelding) and Fancy (3YO filly) respectively.
Both were bred and raised at the farm.
Parisian Artiste made a clean sweep of the Vicbred series, sitting parked throughout in the Final to notch his eighth win and send his stake tally over the $100,000 plateau.
While, Fancy, who outfinished her rivals, also won for the eighth time and took her earnings to within small change of the $100,000 mark.
Another three-year-old filly by Quaker Jet in Mum’s Jewel tasted success at only her second start at the Alexandra Park New Year’s Eve meeting in Auckland.
Love You was also represented by a double at Maryborough recently with You Really Got Me NZ and Kyvalley Surfrider NZ as well as the New Zealand winners Pyramid Mystic (3YO filly) and Thank You.
Chateaubriant, a six-year-old gelding by Used To Me, and one of his first crop, scored twice within 48 hours – Goulburn (1:59) and Menangle (1:57.4).
