The sire of the harness racing winners of $44.3 million, almost $100,000 per qualifier and over 1,000 race wins, Village Mystic is unquestionably one of the best performed sons of the breed changing sire Love You.

Village Mystic, who stands at the Haras Des Rouges Terres, owned by Louis Baudron, the grandson of legendary French horseman Jean-Pierre Dubois, has consistently produced top flight trotters throughout Europe since the start of his stud career.

From his first crop he sired a brilliant gelding in Ecureuil Jenilou (1:53.3), a multiple Group winner of $1.2 million, the Group 1 winner Eye Of The Storm ($660,000) and the Group 3 victor Esprit Mystic ($570,000).

Hanna Des Molles 1:52 ($1.6 million), a Group 1 winner and a world champion Monte trotter, and the Group 3 winners Fine Colline 1:53.3 ($830,000), Godfather and Headscott have been other smart performers by Village Mystic.

Interestingly, 65 percent of Village Mystic’s total foal crop in France have received qualifying certificates.

He is currently in ninth position on the French sires’ premiership with 90 winners and $4.6 million in progeny earnings in 2025.

In Australia, Village Mystic has been represented by two winners from three starters in the Group 1 Need For Speed winner Amandine 1:57.4 ($65,210) and the Listed winner Courmayeur 1:58.4 ($95,594), while in New Zealand, he has left the Sires’ Stakes champion and 4YO Trotting Entire of the Year Mystic Max 1:56.8 ($292,095) with his only foal.

Mystic Max one of Village Mystics biggest winners

A most genuine racehorse, Village Mystic won 12 races with 13 placings from 44 starts for $1,168,123 in stakes and took a record of 1:54.7. Among his successes were the Group 1 Prix De Selection, the Group 2 Prix de Tonnac-Villeneuve, Prix Jules Thibault, Prix Octave Douesnel and the Prix de La Haye and the Group 3 Prix de Bruxelles and the Prix de Château- Chinon.

He won over all distances from 2150 to 2875 metres and was the richest four-year-old of his year in France with a bankroll of $770,000.

By the champion European sire Love You, Village Mystic carries the blood of the leading French stallions Passionnant, Viking’s Way and Fakir Du Vivier and the influential American sires Speedy Crown and Super Bowl on his distaff side.
