Warren hoping for a successful end to the week

Victory at Globe Derby on Saturday night (Sep. 9) will be the perfect end to what has been a stressful week for harness racing trainer Tayla Warren.

Warren has a pair of runners engaged at the meeting – in-form pacer, Told You Twice (Renaissance Man), and Mohs Em Down (Bettor’s Delight), which is poised to make his debut for the horsewoman.

Despite the anxiousness of competition, Warren is looking forward to the relaxation heading to the races offers.

“My mother, Katrina, had a heart attack in March, which required surgery and she was back again this week for more heart surgery,” Warren said.

“She had to have another stent put in, and although she has come through it well, it’s been a stressful week.

“It will be nice to get out to Globe Derby, enjoy the horses going around and maybe get a good result or two.”

Absent from the winners’ circle since last October when triumphant in Redcliffe, Mohs Em Down’s bid for a drought-breaking win has been hampered by a tough draw.

To be driven by Wayne Hill, the son of Bettors Delight wil come from barrier seven in his first outing since June 20.

“He’s been working well, but he’s going to need a lot of luck,” Warren said. “Drawing wide first-up from a spell is not a good way to start.

“Whatever he does this week, I certainly expect him to improve on.”

Told You Twice will then attempt to complete a hat-trick from barrier three over 1800 metres.

The son of Renaissance Man has won his last two from wide draws over the same distance.

“He is in a happy place at the moment and that is reflected by his form,” Warren said. “I’m happy with his draw and think he can be right in the finish again.”
