Progeny of the Wingate Farm resident sires Tintin In America and Warrawee Needy won legs of harness racing’s rich NSW Breeders Challenge series at Menangle last week.
Mahomes, a three-year-old gelding by Tintin In America bred by Wingate Farm principal Jake Stockton, won a heat of the Challenge in 1:54.3 and has won seven of his nine starts this season and nine out of 19 lifetime. He has earned $65,975 in stakes.
While Saveeon, a two-year-old filly by Warrawee Needy, captured a semi-final of the Breeders Challenge in 1:53.2, her fifth success in 12 starts and her third consecutive win.
Tintin In America was represented by his ninth individual juvenile winner for the season in Tin Tin Jo (Echuca), the talented three-year-old Teddy Disco, a 1:55.1 winner at Redcliffe, the Gloucester Park victor American Bullitt and the dual Canadian winner American Colt NZ (1:57.6 and 1:59.4).
Other winners sired by Warrawee Needy included Uncle Shank, who carved out a sharp 1:51.3 mile at Albion Park, the three-year-olds Bully Bourne (1:57.5, Wagga) and Brooklyn Bandit (Parkes) and in North America, Guy Smiley (1:56), Elroy Shiner (1:57.4) and Azucar Jack (1:58.4).
Fear The Dragon, whose three-year-old crop in America has earned $1.7 million, sired a pair of $40,000 Ohio Fairs Championship winners in the two-year-old Miss Maddie P (1:55.6) and the three-year-old Type A Personality (1:53.4).
