Up and coming pacer Wisper A Secret (Huntsville) continued his meteoric rise with a dashing all the way harness racing win in the Leading Edge Security Open Pace at Albion Park on Saturday night.

Despite the presence of former West Australian pacer Pinny Tiger, punters still rallied behind Wisper A Secret who started a warm favourite ahead of Pinny Tiger.
WISPER A SECRET MAY 17 REPLAY
What was expected to be a great battle for the early lead didn’t eventuate. Showing his customary early speed Pinny Tiger reached the lead on despatch of the mobile but Pete McMullen on Wisper A Secret made his intentions very clear when he took his charge to the front. His task was made easier when Carter Dalgety on Pinny Tiger was content to take the trail behind the leader. #

Blacksadance who hadn’t raced since the Inter Dominion Series in December was allowed to race up outside the leader with Classie Washington securing a one out and one back trail.
After running his first quarter in a quick 26.9 seconds McMullen then eased the tempo to run a leisurely second quarter of 30.2 seconds which allowed McMullen to quicken the pace in the last half. As a result on Pinny Tiger who was behind the leader was the only serious challenger but any hopes that he had of making a race of it were quickly dashed when Wisper A Secret sprinted clear down the straight to record a hollow win.
The winner’s mile rate was a respectable 1.52.1.
Pinny Tiger ran a solid race and can only improve as this was his first appearance at Albion Park.
Jimartee sprouted wings from the rear to finish third.
The track was fully resurfaced during the week.
McMullen stated on Wisper A Secret “He went good, the track is probably a couple of seconds off.”
“There’s still a bit of time until the Inter, no rush.”
“He was running super, and his sectionals were great, we had been happy with him even though he was getting beaten”
Regarding stablemate Blacksadance McMullen commented
“He will need a few more runs”.
With the Inter series looming on the horizon the stable has a very strong hand with The Janitor and Wisper A Secret. Both pacers will be facing their toughest task to date but they are very adept at Albion Park and will warrant serious consideration.
