Geoff Easom.

Established in 1965 by Geoff Easom, Wyndown Stud has bred countless harness racing winners all around the country over the years.

Glamour Chief, winner of the Bendigo and Stawell Cups and a heat of the Inter Dominion, Delta Port, the dual Southern Cross winner Leftem For Dead, Muchos Gratias, Feisty and the trotters Powderkeg, Skye Rocket, Aftanoondelite, Chuck Wagon and My Used To Be are just a few of the smart performers bred and reared at Easom’s One Tree Hill property.

Long-time supporters of the SA yearling sales, Wyndown Stud will offer three well bred youngsters at the 2022 Silver Salver Sale to be held on Sunday, March 27 at Globe Derby Park.

The draft will be spearheaded by a stylish colt sired by last season’s leading first crop stallion Always B Miki out of the Modern Art mare Modern Madam (1:57.8), a three-quarter sister to the Vicbred heat winner Artichoke, Abstract Art and Opinionated.

Listed as Lot 11, the colt’s third dam is the Southern Cross placegetter Immortality, while his fourth dam, Great Ambition, took the NSW Sires Stakes and Raith Memorial and was one of the best fillies of her era.

Wyndown is also offering two fillies, one by Art Major’s NSW Derby winning son Major Secret and out of the fine racemare Fanci Pants Lombo (1:58.8), the dam of three sub 2:00 winners and a member of one of Mick Lombardo’s premier families. A big, rangy filly, she is listed as Lot 1.

The other filly (Lot 6) is a neat, compact type by the successful sire Betterthancheddar from the Art Major mare Loveliest Of All. The first foal of her dam, the filly belongs to the same family as Lot 11.

Yearlings will be eligible for a two-year-old Sales race in 2023.
