Royal Regatta (Mcardle) reached double digit wins this season in an open-length harness racing victory in the Pop-up Series at Woodbine Mohawk Park on Tuesday (Jun. 11).

James MacDonald ordered the gelding to the front from third in the second quarter, and Royal Regatta created slight separation at the top of the stretch. He was hounded by Make It Come True (Louis-Philippe Roy) down the lane but cruised through the final 1/16th of a mile and stopped the clock in 1:53.3 with a two-and-a-quarter-length margin. Make It Come True was second over Malvolio (Jody Jamieson).
ROYAL REGATTA REPLAY
The victory was Royal Regattaās 40th lifetime in 203 career starts, and it saw his earnings increase to $317,155. Richard Moreau trained the gelding to victory for Don Beanland. The nine-year-old was claimed by Hani Selbak of Burlington in the race.
Racing is scheduled to continue at Woodbine Mohawk Park on Thursday, Jun. 13 at 7:10 p.m. EDT.
