Harness racing driver Louis-Philippe Roy reached the 2,000-win milestone on Friday (Jul. 22) at Woodbine Mohawk Park.
The three-time Driver Of The Year accomplished the feat in his 11,255th start, driving Settn A Precedent (Sunshine Beach) to victory in the eveningās fourth race.
In the race of achievement, Roy found the four-hole for the four-year-old mare and enjoyed a seat behind hot fractions of :27 and :54.2. He pulled the trigger nearing the final turn and sent his charge after leader Chiefs Dream Girl (Phil Hudon), who reached three-quarters in 1:22.1.
Settn A Precedent dispatched that rival by the eighth pole and finished with enough power to hold off Silver Label (James MacDonald) and drop her lifetime mark to 1:49.4.
