CRAPAUD, PE – Woodmere Kennedie (Rollwithitharry ) was the most sought-after prize during a glorious Atlantic Classic Yearling Sale Friday afternoon (Oct. 7) in Crapaud, P.E.I., that saw the highest total sales ever recorded in Atlantic Canadian Harness Racing History.
Mike Pollard signed for the filly for $43,000 from consignor Bruce Woodās Woodmere Farm of Marshfield.
Tobins Chester (Shanghai Phil) was the top pacing colt purchased by Donald MacRae for $40,000 from Wendell Williams of Ellerslie. The brother to stakes standout Tobins Brownie is from the first Atlantic crop of relocated stallion Shanghai Phil.
Dusty Lane Harper (E L Rocket) claimed the highest trotting price at $31,000 for new owner MCR Dustylane Harper Group. Dusty Lane Farms of Cornwall raised the half-sister to undefeated two-year-old standout Irish Ray.
Total sales on the day ringed in at a new record of $1,891,000 with the 126 yearlings averaging $15,007.

“To see the excitement a 14-year-old had after saving up to buy a $3,000 filly with his own money is every bit as important as the 34 horses that sold for over $20,000.
