Tyler Borth tallied his 400th victory of the season as I Loved Her First (Bettors Delight) extended her harness racing winning streak to four on Tuesday (Dec. 19) at The Raceway at the Western Fair District.
The filly, a three-year-old rookie, replicated her regular tactics and dropped in fifth for Borth. She remained there to the quarter in :28.3 before shifting out and catching the parked-out Jewels Diamondeyes (Daryl Thiessen).
I Loved Her First remained on the helmet through the half in :58.2 and three-quarters in 1:28.4 with Jewels Diamondeyes reaching level terms with the leader. The first-over horse began to struggle approaching the final turn, prompting a three-wide move from I Loved Her First. The latter quickly stepped around the leader and soared to a three-length victory in 1:59.3.
Larjon Lightspeed (Garrett Rooney) swooped from seventh to get up for place over Rose Ricky (Dan Clements).

I Loved Her First has won seven of her first 11 races since her debut in January. The Mike Timpano-trained filly returned from a five-month break in October and has won all four of her starts since. Wendy Timpano of Campbellville and Seaspray Stables of Nanaimo own the filly who has now earned $26,460.
The win marked Tyler Borthās 400th victory of the year. Itās the first time the reinsman has reached the milestone, and three more wins on the night brought his seasonal total to 403. He is striking at a 17 per cent rate in 2023 and is now 10 wins back from James MacDonald in the national driversā standings. He has had a breakout year with new personal records in starts, wins, and earnings.
The Raceway at the Western Fair District will return to action on Friday, Dec. 22.
