At 46-1, Kinda Like Royalty and reinsman Travis Henry (Westwardho Hanover) kicked off the card at The Raceway at Western Fair District with a big victory.
The five-year-old mare had nowhere to go early and was forced to trail the field of seven. Watching Her Fly (Bradley Harris) and One Last Bet (Tyler Borth) battled for the early lead and set a 27.2 opening quarter. One Last Bet was caught two wide and had to find relief when it came available. Ultimate Long Shot (Travis Cullen) took the lead at half and the clock read 57.0. It wasnāt until the field hit the back stretch for the final time, Kinda Like Royalty decided to make her move. She slowly took out her competitors one by one. It took her until after the three-quarter mark before she was able to challenge for the lead. Kinda Like Royalty charged by Ultimate Long Shot with 30.2 last quarter and stopped the clock at 1:58.0.
Ultimate Long Shot held on for second and Watch Her Fly finished third.
