The first elimination winner, Magic Dealer (Wheeling N Dealin) has earned the title of morning line favourite after winning in 2:00.1. He has won three of his six starts this year and has only finished worse than second place once. He has achieved a lifetime mark of 1:56.4 at Woodbine Mohawk Park and even recorded a faster mile of 1:53.4 while finishing second place.
Samuel Fillion jumped in the bike behind Magic Dealer for the first time last week and they will team up again on Saturday. Paul Walker trains the gelding and is looking for his ninth win of the year. Ā Ā Ā Ā
Even though Captain Wania (Resolve) won his elimination in a faster 1:59.3, he opens as the second-morning line favourite. He has made all 18 of his career starts this year and has won six of them.
His fastest win was a 1:56.4 mile at Woodbine Mohawk Park but he also showed more speed in losing efforts. Captain Wania already has a big win this year in the City Of London at Western Fair. Shannon Henry trains the gelding and Trevor Henry will jump in the bike once again.
CAPTAIN WANIA REPLAY
Gregg McNair is the only trainer to have two entries secure a spot in the final. His colt, Arcadia Seelster (Muscle Mass) has three wins this year and five top-three finishes in ten starts. His fastest win game at Grand River in 1:57.3. Muscle Mass finished just behind Captain Wania in the eliminations. Travis Henry will be given the reins and will team up with the sophomore colt.
ARCADIA SEELSTER REPLAY
McNairās other entry is the Muscle Mass filly Radical Legacy. She finished third in the eliminations, which was also her seventh top-three finish in ten starts this year. She also has three wins this year and eight in her entire career.
She has a lifetime mark of 1:55.3 which she also accomplished at Woodbine Mohawk Park earlier this year. Michael Saftic will be in the bike and although he has only four drives this year, he has left the track victorious in three of them.
RADICAL LEGACY REPLAY
Matthew Bax had two in last yearās finals and his top finisher was third place. He only has one this year, Birthday Money (Resolve) that earned a spot in the finals. Before finishing fourth in the eliminations, the filly won back-to-back races in the ONSS Grassroots.
BIRTHDAY MONEY REPLAY
Poof (Looklikeachipdale) was an unlikely second-place candidate late last week but he had just enough to find space late. He has yet to win a race this year but he did win twice during his two-year-old season. His fastest mile was 1:59.3 at Grand River Raceway when it was still a half-mile track.
However, the sophomore gelding has a pair of second and a pair third place finishes this year. Poof is the only Jayne Walker entry to have secured a spot in the finals, but she does have Charmbo Gem waiting in the wings as an Also Eligible.
POOF REPLAY
The longest shot according to the morning line odds is another Lookslikeachipndale filly, No One. She had a win this year at Flamboro Downs, and she trotted the mile in 1:57. She also had a win last year at Georgian Downs where she won in 1:58.3.
The Bruce Richardsonātrained trotter finished third last week in the eliminations and even went off at 5/2 odds. However, the odds maker this week thinks about differently about No One. Richardson himself will be on the bike at post time.
NO ONE REPLAY
The rail horse, Mass Cara (Muscle Mass) could receive some love at the betting window. She did finish fourth last week but was seen as a potential favourite heading into the event. She won three races this year after going winless as a two-year-old. Her fastest win was in the ONSS Grassroots, and she trotted the mile in 1:54.3. She has since won another leg of the ONSS Grassroots at Clinton Raceway in 1:59.2
MASS CARA REPLAY
Post time at Hanover Raceway is 5:30 p.m. EDT.
