It took 79 starts, but Perfect Mia (Perfect Union) earned a visit to the harness winner’s circle for the first time on Saturday (Feb. 25) at Flamboro Downs.
The mare had to take the lead three times in the race. She fired quickly to the front, then executed a give-and-go as directed by Brett MacDonald just past the quarter. Crown Princess (J. Bradley Harris) then put her back in the pocket as they passed the stands, and Perfect Mia came back out turning for home and put her head in front down the stretch for her first career win in 1:59.4.
PERFECT MIA REPLAY
Kelly Duval Lacaille owns and trains Perfect Mia. Despite her previously empty win column, the mare has racked up $60,066 in earnings in her 79 starts. The win came in her sixth try this season. She finished on the board in all of her past three outings.
Flamboro Downs will resume racing on Sunday, Feb. 26 at 6:55 p.m. EST.
