A Little Go Go has a lot of trot

A Little Go Go wired his Atlantic Canada-sired three-year-old trotting peers and starred on the Wednesday harness racing program at Inverness Raceway as the Atlantic Sires Stakes (AtSS) rolled into town.

Marc Campbell wanted the commanding spot for A Little Go Go, and the Tad The Stud (PE) colt advanced past four foes while two-wide in the first quarter mile to get it. A Little Go Go led through :31.3, 1:01.1, and 1:31.2 splits. Mr Finlay Ridge (Mary Clare Macdonald) pressured him on the backstretch, but A Little Go Go shrugged him off at the entry to the final turn.

Dusty Lane Milo (Adam Merner) took that chance to leave the pocket and attack A Little Go Go. Dusty Lane Milo could do no more than threaten though, as A Little Go Go held that foe at bay for the length of the stretch and sealed the score in 2:01. Dusty Lane Mile was three quarters of a length adrift in second. Mr Finlay Ridge was four lengths clear of his nearest rival, finishing third.

A LITTLE GO GO REPLAY

A Little Go Go, an $11.50 winner, is now three-for-18 lifetime. The 2:01 clocking was a new lifetime mark for the $5,750 Atlantic Classic Sale purchase. Grayland Farm of Gulf Shore bought him from that auction.

Moonshine Monday jogged in the first division for two-year-old trotters, leading at every pole to win in 2:08.4 for driver and trainer Myles Heffernan. Jackie Heffernan of Glace Bay owns the Armbro Barrister (PE) colt that is now two-for-four lifetime.

MOONSHINE MONDAY REPLAY

Up Helly Aa took his third win in as many starts, also going wire-to-wire after resisting a final-turn challenger in the second division for freshman trotters. He was clocked in 2:09.2. Kenneth Macdonald drove the Armbro Barrister (PE) colt for trainer Mary Clare Macdonald and owner Riley Farms Ltd. of Summerside. The stable bought the horse for $20,000 from the Atlantic Classic Sale.
